Tree pruning can be essential to keeping trees structurally sound and healthy. It also helps make them look great! We are equipped to access nearly any tree. We primarily employ rope-based tree climbing techniques to access the entire canopy. This allows us to make better cuts in the tree, as well as control and lower large limbs over your property. We offer non-invasive access options for most trees, which is the implementation of ropes instead of ascending the tree with climbing spurs.

Mature Tree Pruning
Services we provide for mature trees include:
- Crown cleaning – removing dead and damaged limbs to reduce hazard and improve appearance
- Crown raising (clearance pruning) – elevating the lowest limb(s) of the tree to provide clearance for people and vehicles, especially lawnmowers
- Crown thinning – to allow for airflow and improved growth of certain tree species
- Disease control – certain pests, notably weevils and mistletoe, can be effectively and organically controlled by regular pruning
- Weight reduction – reduction or removal of overextended limbs can save both tree and property
- View pruning – often involves crown cleaning and thinning to improve views beyond the tree

Structural Pruning of Young Trees

- Train pruning – “training” a tree involves pruning to create a strong lead stem, cut out crossing limbs and establish the lowest branch.
- Crown thinning – young trees like lindens benefit from light crown cleaning to promote good branch structure
- Subordination – reducing or removing one of two or more competing lead stems to encourage better branch structure
